The most important subsidiaries of Helvetia are Helvetia Schweizerische Versicherungsgesellschaft AG, St.Gallen, and Helvetia Schweizerische Lebensversicherungsgesellschaft AG, Basel. Those two direct holdings were transferred as non-cash contributions to Helvetia Patria Holding at the time of its foundation in 1996.
