Helvetia Group in Germany

Competition on the German market is very fierce. The market is shared by around 120 larger insurance companies who also partly compete with banks, savings banks and fund companies.

Helvetia has been present in the German market for more than 140 years and as an all-line insurer offers almost the whole range of private and commercial insurance products.

Helvetia operates via three insurance companies and one sales company. The head office for all these companies is located in the centre of Frankfurt am Main. Helvetia Life Insurance, which was founded in 1987, offers innovative retirement products that complement the products offered by the "head office for Germany", a traditional general insurance company. Helvetia International was established in 1989 first and foremost as a cross-border service provider for the European domestic market and primarily serves major and industry customers.

Helvetia Germany numbers among the medium-sized companies in Germany with 750 employees and around 850,000 customers.

Two-thirds of new business is acquired via brokers and general agents representing more than one insurance company, and the remaining third comes in through Helvetia's exclusive sales channels. In the fields of health and legal expenses insurance, building society and fund investments, Helvetia has been working with renowned cooperation partners for many years.
