Helvetia Group in Austria
The Austrian insurance market is dominated by four major providers and approximately 70 small to medium-sized insurance companies. Helvetia Austria has a market share of around 1.5%.
Since October 2006, Helvetia Austria has consisted of Helvetia Insurance, which came into being with the change of name for "Anker", founded in 1858, and Helvetia, head office for Austria, which has specialised in transport insurance for more than 125 years.
A total of almost 300,000 customers are served by 650 employees, 200 of whom are based at the head office in Vienna and around 450 in the regions.
Helvetia Austria offers all life and property and accident business lines, and distinguishes itself both by its concentration on private customers and smaller corporate clients and by its niche business in transport insurance.
