Since 1858, Helvetia has grown from a number of Swiss and foreign insurance companies into a successful European insurance group. Permanent change – sometimes unforeseen and unintended, and sometimes consciously pursued – shaped our history.
But some constants have helped to safeguard our identity and success at all times. This includes keeping a balance between our pursuit of security and our need for entrepreneurial freedom, whereby the focus has changed from time to time and our methods have become ever more refined, culminating in our current system of risk management. Helvetia has managed to keep its good reputation intact at all times.

Helvetia's anniversary publication contains articles, interviews and thoughts that cover a long period of time.
It carries an overview of the most important periods in the history of the company, and discusses key events of the past 25 years, such as the end of the twin structure, the introduction of new business lines, the partnership and merger with Patria, and the foundation of the «new» Helvetia Group.
