The 18 December was a special day not only for the ski jumpers, but also for those participating in the background: Helvetia Insurance and the Swiss skiing association Swiss-Ski renewed their sponsorship agreement by a further four years until the end of the 2020/2021 season. Helvetia has been supporting the Swiss-Ski association and thus around 300 athletes in eleven disciplines since the 2006/2007 season.
One of those flying the flag is the four-time Olympic champion Simon Ammann, who has been competing with personal Helvetia sponsorship since the 2008/2009 season. Helvetia extended the partnership with the athletes until the end of the 2017/2018 Olympic season. The 35-year-old from Toggenburg really values the support from his sponsor: “Thanks to the support I get from Helvetia, I’m under less pressure as a sportsman.”
From this season Helvetia has also been supporting a new athlete, a ski jumper at the start of his career. Twenty-one-year-old Killian Peier began competing regularly in the world cup during the 2014/2015 season and is already one of Switzerland’s best ski jumpers. The young athlete from West Switzerland is delighted about the partnership: “I’m really pleased that Helvetia has so much faith in me and is supporting me.”
