The basic commercial training will undergo revision until 2022. The young people will be required to acquire new skills such as acting in an entrepreneurial manner, evaluating key figures or shaping customer relationships. As an attractive training company, Helvetia intends to prepare its young talents for future training goals and is setting up a Helvetia Service Center (HSC) that they will manage autonomously. «The HSC offers young talents a unique opportunity to develop, both personally and in terms of their expertise. This helps them become the sort of employees we seek at Helvetia: genuine personalities with a bold, wholehearted approach who will not be deterred by the odd headwind», says Liza Follert, Head Recruiting & Employer Branding at Helvetia.
The pilot stage of the HSC will run for four months and will focus initially on customer concerns relating to motor vehicle insurance. To ensure that the «Brilliants» can later offer a high level of service, they will be trained by experienced employees at the «regular» HSC before their assignments. During their time at the young talents’ HSC, they will be supported by a training supervisor in specialist subjects and coached by a vocational trainer. Ralph A. Jeitziner, Head Distribution Switzerland and Member of Group Executive Management, comments: «With the Helvetia Service Center for young talents we are breaking with old conventions and sending a signal for new and innovative paths in our industry. As an attractive employer we offer interesting, appealing traineeships that offer young people the opportunity to embark on a career with courage.»
