I work in the Non-Life Solutions area as a Business Engineer and am involved in setting up a competence centre as part of a large internal project. I am responsible for project and requirement management tasks as well as the introduction of an agile project methodology.
It is exciting to be involved from the beginning and to be part of shaping something new. I can draw on project experience I gained in the motor vehicle industry while learning about a sector that is new to me.
What challenges do you face in your work?
Reconciling different expectations and collaboration models. Particularly in large projects, the challenge lies in creating the conditions for coordinated and synchronized work in order to achieve the added value all stakeholders want.
Due to the transformation of many economic sectors, existing structures in industries and companies are being broken up and replaced by new structures and innovations. Transformation is taking place faster and faster, particularly digitalization advances. The market conditions and customers' requirements are constantly changing, and changing far more rapidly than even 10 years ago. Customers want to be able to take out insurance online in an easy and convenient process. They want to be able to manage claims simply, through a customer portal. They choose the insurance that can offer the service they want. For Helvetia this means breaking up old structures, acting in a way that is geared to the future and being able to respond to ever-accelerating changes in the insurance market. The saying here is: "The competition doesn't sleep": "&Go"
The digital transformation is very interesting to me. And that the fact that I can play an active and central part in the context of my project work is hugely motivating for me.
What makes it especially fun is that we are a very compatible team that works well together.
… you will often find me on the ski slopes – what more could you want than sunshine and a great view? In fact, I just love being outdoors, summer or winter, usually with my dog.
