If you take in Ukrainian refugees, they can be added to your existing Helvetia household contents insurance policy at no extra charge. With additional household contents all risks insurance, sudden and unforeseen damage to your property is covered. If the vehicle has been cleared through customs in Switzerland, then yes. As soon as customs clearance has been completed, you can insure the vehicle with a Swiss insurer such as Helvetia.
If you have not cleared the vehicle through customs, it will remain on the road with the Ukrainian licence plates. In this case, it remains insured by the Ukrainian insurer. In the event of a claim you can contact the Swiss National Bureau of Insurance.
