You may take out legal protection insurance at any time. However, the insurance does not cover disputes that arose before the insurance was concluded.
Legal protection is provided only where a trigger event occurs after commencement of the insurance contract and only after expiry of the three-month waiting period.
The three-month waiting period applies, for example, with:
Contact the insurer as soon as possible. If you wait too long, the insurer may reduce your benefits.
In the case of civil-law disputes with neighbours, legal protection insurance for tenants will help you, covering not only the cost of legal advice but also the cost of lawyers and experts. In addition, court and litigation costs are covered, as is any compensation awarded to the counterparty.
Employee legal protection insurance safeguards your legal interests in relation to your employer. You can rely on expert legal advice – e.g. if your legal situation is unclear – as well as cover for your court costs.
The insured benefits apply worldwide.
Helvetia legal protection insurance offers supplementary insurance (“Road Traffic”) for car owners and drivers. This supplementary insurance covers legal disputes you are involved in in your capacity as the owner or driver of motor vehicles or watercraft.
