International Mobility

In recent years, Helvetia has transformed from a Swiss insurance company into a global group, where collaboration and leadership across diverse cultures and regions is becoming a daily business.
We develop talents
As a company committed to the growth of our employees, we offer international experiences as part of our talent development program to foster new perspectives and ambitious goals. Helvetia provides a wide range of programmes for both early-career and experienced employees to support their international mobility. Discover more about our program and hear first-hand from participants.
Helvetia Summit Expedition

The Helvetia Summit Expedition (HSE) is a comprehensive development program for senior employees, who can and want to play an active role in shaping Helvetia's future. It spans the entire group, drawing participants from all market units. The focus lies on personal and leadership development, enabling a strategic perspective, and the Helvetia culture while also building up an international network. The program is conducted in collaboration with the Executive School of the University of St. Gallen, with around 25 participants each year.

Sibylle
"The HSE was a truly enriching experience that allowed me to further develop my skills in terms of strategic and leadership topics and to learn more about the Helvetia business in other market units. Above all, it was a great opportunity to expand my network within the Helvetia Group and to learn and benefit from the experiences of others."
Sibylle, Head of Sales Steering, Helvetia Switzerland
Executive Mentoring Journey

As part of the Executive Mentoring Journey, the participants can reflect on specific aspects of their personal and professional development – as a mentoring tandem together with a member of Group Executive Board or local Executive Management team. This experience aims to help them build new skills for taking action and finding solutions and to extend their network across market unit borders. Approximately 40 mentor/mentee pairs take part each year. The mentoring journey is concluded after one year, the trustful relationship stays much longer.

Pablo
"The Executive Mentoring Journey far exceeded my expectations. Thanks to this program, I was able to understand how transforming can be, for your professional development, the feedback and the new insights you receive from your mentor. Great experience to think out of the box!"
Pablo, Marine and Art Risks Department Manager, Helvetia Seguros
HelvetiaBridge

In this pilot exchange program, around 12 talents will have the opportunity to work in another market unit for three months. They are given a position in their own fields of expertise in order to promote learning, establish synergies and develop strong relationships. The participants go on an "Impact Journey", one aim of which is to identify opportunities in their specialist fields for both home and host countries.

Dominic
"I am very much appreciating the opportunity to take part in this pilot and excited to work with my colleagues at Caser for three months this year."
Dominic, Group Compensation & Benefits
Cross-border development

As part of the Cross-border Development Program, approximately 15 employees from all market units are given the opportunity each year to learn from best practices globally. The selected employees can work remotely or on-site for a short period of time on the projects of other market units, depending on the needs of the projects and the employees. This exchange is tailored to the employees' individual development needs, allowing them to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Helvetia Group.

Simona
"Thanks to the cross-border program, I spent three enriching weeks in the Seville office, collaborating with the Market & Customer Research team. The experience enhanced my technical skills through new analysis tools and broadened my perspective by exposing me to a different culture, language, and way of thinking."
Simona, Finance – Operations & Transformation Projects, Helvetia Italy
International assignments

Our international assignments enable employees to work in another Helvetia market unit for 3 months up to 18 months. International assignments give assignees valuable insights into other country markets and allow Helvetia to strengthen international cooperation in specific topics. They also offer employees the opportunity to develop their skills in key areas on an international level. Throughout the assignment, employees receive qualified support from our specialists.

Marion
"Thanks to the assignment, I was able to not only advance my professional development but also grow personally. The assignment was a transformative experience for me. The new environment helped me recognize my strengths, tackle challenges constructively and opened up new perspectives for me."
Marion, Head of Product Management SME, Helvetia Switzerland
