Is the insured fully fit for work or capable of gainful employment? A person is considered to have a partial incapacity for work if, at the commencement of the insurance term, he/she has to be fully or partially absent from work for health reasons, is receiving daily sickness benefits as a result of accident or illness, can no longer be fully employed as befits his/her training and skills for health reasons or is disabled within the meaning of the Federal invalidity insurance, accident insurance or military insurance schemes, and/or is drawing benefits from one or more of these institutions (please attach pension decision).

Please note: Ordinary retirement does not need to be reported. You can end/cancel the process and need take no further action. We will inform your employees of the amount of the retirement benefits directly at the appropriate time.

Notes:

  • Semi-retirement entails a maximum of five possible stages. The first stage must amount to at least 10% of the retirement benefit.
  • The proportion of the retirement benefit drawn before retirement age may not exceed the share of the salary reduction. Withdrawal of the retirement benefit as a lump sum is possible in a maximum of three steps.
  • This also applies when the salary paid by one employer is insured with multiple employee benefit institutions. One disbursement comprises all retirement benefits drawn as a lump sum within one calendar year.
  • In all cases, the provisions as set out in the regulations apply.

Deferred retirement

Note: If the insured person is to continue to be employed beyond retirement age, this should be reported using the form «Continued insurance pursuant to Art. 33b LOB».

Note: If the insured person intends is to continue to be employed beyond retirement age and does not yet wish to receive the retirement benefit, this must be reported using the form «Deferral of retirement benefit pursuant to Art. 13b LOB».
