Management and governance

In order to entrench sustainability in Helvetia’s core business, responsibilities for corporate responsibility are clearly defined.

The ultimate responsibility

The ultimate responsibility for CR commitment lies with Helvetia's Board of Directors, which is informed semi-annually on material sustainability issues and consistently takes social and ecological aspects into account in its activities. The highest governance body, responsible for CR strategy and fundamental strategic decisions on CR topics, is the Executive Board and in particular the CEO of Helvetia Group. The highest CR committee is the CR Advisory Board, which acts as an advisory and steering committee to regulate the strategic orientation of CR in the country markets and provides resources for national implementation. Each country market has one responsible Executive Management member in this committee.

Corporate Responsibility department

At Group level, the CR department manages the further development of the CR strategy and CR programme and advises Executive Management at country and Group level on CR questions. This department is part of the CEO Office and is supported by the CR officers of the national companies.

Cooperation with experts

The CR department cooperates directly with experts from the relevant Group functions and country markets when implementing new projects and observing operational CR functions. They help to adapt their own business processes with regard to sustainability, act as contacts for the CR department and ensure smooth information management with stakeholders for sustainability issues.
