Valuables insurance grants you financial coverage for luxury items. We cover the cost of repairing or replacing your valuables if they are lost, damaged or stolen.

What is provisional cover?

If you make a new acquisition in a category of valuables that is already insured, such as watches and jewellery or art, we offer you provisional insurance cover of up to CHF 50,000 for a period of 30 days from the date of purchase. For example, if your newly purchased watch is stolen on your holiday and you have not yet insured it, we will still pay for the claim.

No fine print. When does valuables insurance pay up and when does it not?

Your insurance pays if …

… a burglar helps themselves to your artworks

… you lose your watch while in transit

… your instrument is damaged by a burst water pipe.

… your collection is destroyed in a fire.

Your insurance will not pay if ...

… your jewellery is stolen after being left in an unlocked vehicle.

… the damage to the item is due to normal wear and tear.

… if your valuable grand piano is damaged by a removal firm during transport. In such cases, the removal firm is liable.

Have your valuables valued from time to time

The replacement value can change on an ongoing basis. This is why it is worthwhile to have valuables appraised regularly.

Jewellery & watches over CHF 50,000

Jewellery and watches with an individual value of more than CHF 50,000 or a total value of more than CHF 100,000 must be specially secured or carried on one’s person. Otherwise, the insurance company may reduce the benefit in the event of a claim.
