On your motorbike out in the country or heading home through rush-hour traffic? Wherever you are going – you will ride safely with Helvetia’s motorcycle insurance.
It is important to us that you get the motorcycle insurance you really need. Neither too much nor too little. Use our insurance modules to put together your own personal cover package. Find out more about the individual components of motorbike insurance here.
Vehicle liability insurance – Mandatory liability insurance covers insured persons against property damage or bodily injury to third parties caused by the insured motorcycle. In addition, you are also protected against unjustified claims for damages.
Partially comprehensive cover – Your motorcycle is insured against damage due to external factors such as theft, fire, natural forces (such as storm damage, hail and flooding), glass breakage, collision with animals, vandalism and damage by martens.
Fully comprehensive cover – In addition to partially comprehensive cover, comprehensive cover insures you in the event of collision damage to your own motorcycle for which you are to blame. Helvetia’s fully comprehensive cover consists of the two components of partially comprehensive cover and comprehensive cover.
Gross negligence – This relates to our waiving the right of recourse granted to us by law in the case of damages caused by gross negligence (supplementary cover, gross negligence cover).
Bonus protection – With bonus protection insurance, the first claim each year and benefit will have no negative effects on your bonus.
Helvetia motor vehicle insurance provides optimum coverage for your safety gear in case of theft, damage and destruction.
Our Assistance package offers you quick, reliable and competent support if there is damage to your motorcycle, for example covering the cost of breakdown and recovery services. What begins as a minor incident can end up as a costly legal battle, so legal expenses insurance for motorists is also included in the Assistance package.
Whether the damage is to your windscreen, headlights or indicators, our supplementary Glass Plus insurance provides 100% cover for damage to all motorcycle components made of glass or glass substitutes.
Passenger accident insurance covers personal injury to the driver and passenger within the scope of the agreed benefits.
A deposit is not necessary if you choose our flat-fee option. You pay the premium for nine months and ride all year round. A deposit period is already taken into account here. This way, you can enjoy flexible use of your motorcycle on fine days throughout the year and at the same time you pay a premium for less than nine months. You are also saved the administrative burden and the fees for depositing your license plate.
If the license plates are deposited for at least 14 days with the relevant canton, then you can request a refund for the proportion of the premium covering the duration of the deposit. From the date of the deposit, the insurance coverage is valid for another 12 months and is free at Helvetia. An exception is made here for damages on roads that are open to public traffic.
You will need proof of insurance in order to license the vehicle you have purchased. Please contact us so we can provide this for you. We need you to provide us with some details on the new vehicle and will then issue the proof of insurance immediately. You or your mechanic can then submit the new registration.
