You set the course, both on the water and when it comes to insurance cover. With Helvetia’s boat insurance, your vessel is optimally insured on water and on land.
It is important to us that your watercraft insurance is tailored exactly to your needs. With the third-party, comprehensive and accident modules, you can assemble the insurance cover that is optimal for you. Find out more about the individual components of boat insurance here.
Mandatory liability insurance (for machine-driven ships and sailing boats with a sail area of more than 15 m2) covers the insured person against property damage or bodily injury to third parties caused by the insured watercraft. Since the Helvetia liability boat insurance does not apply a bonus/surcharge system, you need not worry about premium increases in case of a claim.
Your boat is insured against damage caused by external factors such as theft, fire, natural forces (storm, hail, flooding), glass breakage and wilful damage.
In addition to partially comprehensive cover, comprehensive cover insures you in the event of collision damage to the vehicle for which you are to blame. Since the Helvetia fully comprehensive boat insurance does not apply a bonus/surcharge system, you need not worry about premium increases in case of a claim. Personal effects and loose accessories are included at no extra cost up to a value of CHF 2,000.
The accident insurance for passengers covers bodily injury to the driver and passengers within the scope of the agreed benefits. Dogs and cats transported in the boat are also insured in the event of an accident.
Liability claims by towed water skiers
You have the option of insuring yourself against claims by water skiers you are towing.
Damage to personal effects and loose accessories
You can insure personal effects such as sports and fishing equipment up to a total of CHF 5,000. In the fully comprehensive policy, CHF 2,000 is already included in the basic cover.
