#mymask: Reusable and locally made

18.05.2020, photo: Helvetia
"I think it’s important to play a role in helping contain coronavirus in Switzerland using local resources."
Ursina Pajarola, creator of the #mymask initiative

The #mymask initiative was established to meet the high demand for community masks without using materials that are urgently needed by the medical industry. To quickly ramp up production, #mymask has teamed up with small Swiss companies along the entire value creation chain. Over 65 sewing businesses have already joined the initiative and are producing some 12,000 community masks per week. The masks are sold by a variety of online shops of all sizes as well as local shops.

Helvetia has supported the #mymask initiative from the outset with financial assistance and staff. In doing so, the insurance company has demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility and supported small and medium-sized enterprises in these extraordinary circumstances. The initiative supports employment in Switzerland through local production of reusable hygienic masks. #mymask also enables many companies that rely on masks to continue their business activities.
