Today, you can conclude many insurance policies online. For more complex issues, a personal consultation is worthwhile. How does it work? How do I prepare? Read about how our Helvetia advisors support you.

When is an insurance consultation worthwhile?

Whether for travel insurance or private third-party liability: at Helvetia you can calculate your premium for many types of insurance and conclude them directly in just a few steps. A consultation makes sense and is important for more complex cases. If your life situation changes, for instance because you get married, after moving house, if you have children or if you are dealing with questions relating to retirement. In short, when it’s about financial protection for you, your loved ones and your future.

Book a consultation

You can arrange a consultation by phone, e-mail or online. With just a few clicks you can book a consultation directly in your customer advisor’s calendar at an agency near you. The available dates for either a telephone consultation or an on-site appointment will be displayed.

Where does a consultation take place?

If you have a question about an existing policy, it’s usually enough to enquire over the phone. For an initial discussion or a more complex issue, it’s best to ask your customer advisor whether to meet at your home or in the agency. With over 100 locations in Switzerland, Helvetia is always close by. Or perhaps you would prefer a video call or to meet in the metaverse? Helvetia is also there for you in the virtual world.

Which documents do I need to take to the consultation?

For an initial evaluation, gather all your existing insurance policies together. This will ensure that you are neither over or underinsured. If you do not have any existing policies and you need new insurance, e.g. for your car or household contents, the purchase agreement for your car or a list of your household contents would be important. Would you like to receive advice about your pension situation? Take your LOB documents along as this will help us to focus on your situation in the consultation. Ideally, you can ask your advisor about which documents are needed prior to the appointment.

“At Helvetia all advisors are Cicero-certified in terms of the quality of the advisory service they offer. They have the knowledge and the tools to get to know your needs, to see what you require, to answer your questions and to support you with implementation.”

What is a consultation like?

The first step is to clarify your needs and identify your insurance requirements. You will see that it is important for Helvetia to understand your goals, wishes and needs in order to find the right solution together with you. It is possible that other important aspects will emerge during the discussion that had previously not been considered. This holistic approach is known at Helvetia as a 360-degree consultation. Our advisors have all been trained to provide a comprehensive consultation and have broad specialist knowledge. Ask your questions.

Transparency and flexibility

If you discuss a specific insurance solution, your specialist will show you the individual benefits and the corresponding premiums for your insurance right away and can clarify whether the proposals meet your needs. Now you can decide if the insurance benefits are right for you, if you wish to make any changes or if you need more time to consider. You can then conclude your insurance.

myHelvetia customer portal

Once you have concluded your insurance, you can view your documents on the “myHelvetia” customer portal at any time and find the contact details for the specialist responsible for you. You can manage your personal details and track a claim.
